Dr Alice Kesby
Clinical Psychologist
Bach. Psych (Hons); MCP (Clin)/PhD
About
Alice is a Clinical Psychologist who treats a wide range of mental health issues and also specialises in working with children, adolescents and families affected by eating disorders. She has deep respect for the courage it takes to seek support during what can be one of the most challenging times in a family’s life, and sees this work as a genuine privilege. Alice brings a warm, empathetic, and down-to-earth style to therapy. She aims to create a space where young people and their families feel safe, understood, and held — even when things are hard to talk about.
Alice’s approach is evidence-based and grounded in the belief that no one heals in isolation. She works alongside parents and carers, helping them feel confident and supported in playing an active, central role in their young person’s recovery. Alice works in a reflective, systemic, collaborative way that allows space for connection and exploration of the patterns that may be keeping families and young people feeling stuck.
Experience
Alice has over a decade of experience in the field of eating disorders, spanning clinical practice, academic research, and university teaching. Alice has received supervision and training from leaders in the field, completed a PhD focused on anorexia nervosa, and has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications on eating disorders.
In addition to her clinical work, Alice lectures on eating disorders in the postgraduate Clinical Psychology program at UNSW.
